An atelier in Firenze. Built to serve buyers.
FRAYDA is a small Florentine leather-goods house. Two workshops, eighty-four makers, one trade desk that answers in twelve minutes. We exist to make the buyer's job calmer.
FRAYDA began in a single room above a tannery.
In 2014 Andrea Frayda and six artisans rented a small space in Santa Croce, the leather quarter of Firenze. They had one cutting table, two industrial machines, a fax line, and an idea: to make a working atelier that could serve serious retail buyers without losing the discipline of handwork.
The first client was a Copenhagen boutique that ordered 200 totes. The second, a Milan brand that wanted a private-label line. Both still work with us. The rule then was the same as now: every email gets a reply the same day, every brief gets a feasibility note within twenty-four hours, and every piece passes through three sets of hands before it leaves the building.
Today we are two workshops — one in Firenze, one in Scandicci — eighty-four makers, and one trade desk.
